Along with their popular V12/2 motors, Slot Italia also offers complete rear axle starter sets for most of the popular 1:32 scale RTR slot cars currently on the market. These kits include everything needed to replace the standard molded plastic rear axle assemblies found on most mass-produced slot cars.

A Slot Italia Pro Axle Kit comes complete with CNC machined rear wheel hubs, bronze axle bearings, a hardened steel 3/32" (2.38mm) rear axle, machined crown or spur gear and resin wheel inserts.

A variety of Pro Axle Kits are offered to fit most of the popular inline and sidewinder chassis configurations currently being made by the larger RTR slot car manufacturers such as Carrera, FLY, Ninco, ProSlot and Scalextric/SCX. These kits can also be used on Monogram-Revell and MRRC chassis.

Slot Italia rear wheel hubs and gears are secured to the axle using a set screw as opposed to the press-on arrangement most RTR makers employ. You will need an 0.9mm hex Allen wrench to tighten these set screws, but the extra effort that this approach requires is well worth it.

Set screw mounting provides an accurate means of mounting axle gears and rear wheel hubs precisely to the width required. This is particularly important in sidewinder applications where too much side play effects performance, and too tight a fit will cause the rear axle assembly to bind on the chassis.

Slot Italia Inline Pro Axle Sets include everything you need to upgrade any make of RTR slot car. These kits can also be used with the HRS Modular Chassis System.

The precision crown gears used in these kits include a bronze gear hub with a machined groove to maintain the proper gear mesh. The end of the motor armature shaft fits into this groove to keep the gear train aligned during hard cornering.

Several different wheel diameter sizes are available to fine-tune the chassis ride height.

Slot Italia Sidewinder Pro Axle Kits include everything you need to upgrade any make of RTR slot car. Slot Italia uses a unique variable pitch spur and pinion gear system to maintain the proper gear mesh regardless of the number of teeth on the motor pinion and axle spur gear.

Most sidewinder chassis other than ProSlot use a 19mm diameter spur gear. These kits can also be used with the HRS Modular Chassis System. A special kit is also available for ProSlot applications which require a slightly smaller diameter 18mm spur gear.

Slot Italia also offers rear axles and bronze bearings for use on RTR slot cars. These are the same hardened steel axles and bronze bearing sets included in their Pro Axle Starter Kits.

If you want to retain the standard molded plastic wheel hubs that come with most makes of RTR cars then you can simply replace the axles and bearings using the parts listed below.

Slot Italia Rear Axle Kits include 0.9mm M2 Set Screws for the wheel hubs and axle gears, but it's always a good idea to have a few extra of the these small screws in case you loose one. One of the 0.9mm M2 Hex Wrenches is also a must.
