Slot Italia HRS Chassis System

Slot Italia produces a unique 1:32 scale modular chassis system they call the HRS series. This chassis, when mated with their other lines of high-performance V12/2 motors, machined rear axle sets and gears, guide flags and soft racing braid will produce a 1:32 scale slot car chassis that surpasses any other production chassis and many scratch-built brass racers.

The HRS chassis system is comprised of three main components; the basic chassis pan itself, a drop-in rear motor carrier in your choice of inline or sidewinder configurations and a front axle and guide flag assembly.

Complete 1:32 scale HRS modular chassis starter kits are available in both inline and sidewinder configurations.

HRS Inline Chassis Starter Kit - SICH-01

The modular inline chassis kit shown below includes all of the components required to assemble a complete HRS inline chassis. The motor carrier included in this kit accepts any endbell driven Mabuchi "S" Can style motor, including Slot Italia's own V12/2 motors. The SIMS-03 or SIMS-04 are ideal choices for this chassis.

The HRS chassis pan included in the starter kit utilizes four outriggers and matching body mounting cups to secure either a styrene or cast resin hard shell body or a Lexan® vacuum-formed light-weight racing body.

The body mounting cups can be glued to the inside edges of any 1:32 scale body, and the outrigger tabs trimmed to the proper width. Installation and removal of the body then becomes a simple matter of spreading the sides of the body slightly to free the chassis pan itself.

HRS Sidewinder Chassis Starter Kit - SICH-11

The modular sidewinder chassis kit shown below is essentially the same as the inline kit shown above with the exception of a sidewinder motor carrier. Any endbell driven Mabuchi "S" Can style motor can be mounted in this carrier, including Slot Italia's own V12/2 motors. The SIMF-03 or SIMF-04 are a perfect fit for this chassis.

HRS Sidewinder RTR Chassis - SICH-21

The modular ready to run (RTR) sidewinder chassis is a complete rolling chassis comprised entirely of Slot Italia high performance parts. It comes complete with everything needed to mount a body or your choice. An injection molded styrene body shell or Lexan vacuum-formed body is all that you will need to add to complete this chassis, and create a high performance slot car. The sidewinder motor carrier makes it possible to use a full depth interior and driver figure in most cases.

HRS Modular Chassis Components

Slot Italia also provides the individual components that comprise their modular chassis systems. These components can be used with the HRS modular chassis as well as for scratch-built applications.

HRS Inline Motor Carriers

Slot Italia produces three different inline motor carriers, two for standard Mabuchi "S" Can motors in "Can" and "Endbell" drive designs, along with a Boxer motor carrier for Ninco NC-2 style and Plafit/Falcon motors.

These motor carriers are drop-in replacements for the HRS module chassis. They can also be used for scratch-building projects. Because the motor, rear axle, gears and traction magnet are self-contained in a single assembly they can easily be fitted to a brass or styrene pan to create a custom slot car chassis.

HRS Sidewinder Motor Carriers

Slot Italia produces two different sidewinder motor carriers, both for standard Mabuchi "S" Can motors with an "Endbell" drive design. Two variations of this motor carrier are produced, one for standard 19mm axle spur gears as used with Scalextric and FLY slot cars, and the other for the slightly smaller 18mm axle spur gears found on ProSlot models.

Three traction magnet mounting pockets are provided, one directly beneath the rear axle, and two forward of the motor.

These motor carriers are drop-in replacements for the HRS modular chassis and can also be used for scratch-building projects. Because the motor, rear axle, gears and traction magnet are self-contained in a single assembly they can easily be fitted to a brass or styrene pan to create a custom slot car chassis.

Slot Italia Universal Chassis Parts

Slot Italia produces several chassis components for regular RTR chassis applications. Their Neodimium traction magnets, low-friction guide flags and copper pick-up braids are some of the finest available.

Slot Italia LED Lighting Kit w/ Brakes

Slot Italia also produces an excellent LED lighting kit. The kit includes both front headlights and rear taillights. On-board power storage is provided to keep the headlights glowing even when a car de-slots.

A sensor circuit and timer turns the rear brake lights on when power is decreased to simulate braking upon entering a corner. This kit can be installed in any Slot Italia RTR slot car, or used with most RTR or scratch-built chassis.
